Artist History
Kyros (formerly known as Kyrosgp6) was formed in late '97 by front-man Luciano Pesci, and dj. Soul Kutts. The two quickly acquired interest in the project and recruited many local musicians. The first of which was drummer Derek Peterson. After an extensive shifting of members, the band was in its current line up by early '99. Within one month, the band was back on the scene playing shows around the state. In early 2000, the band signed a deal with Megaton Records™ and went into the studio with producer-engineer, and former WWF™ wrestler, Maxx Payne. They quickly fine-tuned their sound and started tracking their debut album by march of 2000. In September, the group again joined forces with a well established producer, Dave Sussman. Together with Payne and Sussman they completed their album, which released in March of 2001. In august of 2001 the band signed a management deal with Fulcrum Entertainment. Fulcrum quickly had them touring up and down the western United States with bands like 311, One Side Zero, Hoobastank, and many others. Their sound has continued to amass a large following and with the forthcoming album, to hit stores and radio in March 2002, this following will become even larger. "This band is definitely all about the fans. "They spent so much time talking to us and going out of their way to make sure we had a good time...It's just incredible" -Fan interviewed at the Fillmore in Denver, CO. Press Reviews
You can't get too fancy when trying to describe Kyros or you'll end up with your foot-or rather the computer keyboard-in your mouth. They trick up their sound with guitar licks that whip around clever beats and passionate vocals. "Eckos" begins the album in a traditional alternative rock fashion, but by the time the driving and haunting "Ellemenopee" thrusts from your speakers, pinpointing the band with a specific label is impossible. Just sit back, listen, and enjoy! From start to finish, Kyros unloads tight songs accented with brilliant production. This isn't a cheap demo disc by any means; sonically, this is one of the best albums I've ever listened to lately. Mature songwriting is a welcome relief from such a fledgling band. The lyrics are right, the music is polished and refined, and the musicians mesh well together. It is a band; the musicians play together, and aren't trying to upstage each other. Ever since we played Kyros on "X96 Xposed", our new music show, we have been flooded with positive response from our listeners. Their fan base is massive and continues to grow. When I first listened to the album, I thought it was a national big label release and not a bunch of high school kids from Orem. Listen to Kyros, and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
