Artist History Vediog Svaor is a one-man band created in spring of 1996. The first song they recorded was a two track recorder called “Hollow E. and L. Skin”. Described by the band as being “Mid-Tempo Black Metal” During the months that followed, Vediog Svaor composed 4 new songs : “Fiend”, “Blakulla” “In Colouring Dun”, and “The Lightening Behind the Mountain” Recorded on an 8-track recorder, these songs would wind up what became the split cassette with Sentinel, another French Black Metal project. Vediog Svaor’s songs would alternate between violent and serene passages, screaming and chanting “I tried, in these compositions, to mix my Black Metal influences (Darkthrone, Bethlehem, Bathory, Enslaved) with some psychedelic stuff (influenced by Catherdral’s Statik Majik, King Crimson, and early Pink Floyd recordings such as Umma Gumma, More, and Atom Heart Mother”) In September 1998, the second demo , In The Distance, is recorded somewhere in Alps mountains. The songs are darker and more aggressive than ever before, with VS’s sickest vocal delivery yet.. The psychedelic atmospheres are deeper. “They are not just a gimmick limited to some passages in the songs, they are present in the structures, in the progressions of the compositions and in the entire demo” Lyrically, the themes deal with sickness, self-inflected torture, survivance, animals dream and nightmares, suffused and confused souvenirs, psychedelic visions” During 2001 the recording has been re-mixed by Vediog Svaor , the sole member of Sentinel and remastered by Remasters Studio. And finally pressed onto disc by Paragon Intl The future of Vediog SVAOR? 6 new songs are in the works. Once again, the lyrics will be written and sung in French. The main influences now are songwriters like Paul Chain, Glenn Danzig, Quorthon, Neil Young “But I don’t put water in my wine, If the new songs are not the rawest, the sickest, most psychedelic I could do, It won’t be released. If its not the most extreme, its useless”
