Press Reviews The second band of the night was actually one of the more interesting highlights of the show as MyME came into this show as a late add and brought their extremely dark and depressed sound and stage presence to the respectable on hand crowd. Featuring vocalist Christopher, guitarist Jason, bassist The Maker, drummer Mike, and guitarist Tom, MyME works with a very split personality on stage, walking their sound from the ambient to the heavy in different sections. On stage, the band wasted little time between songs and just hit into each tune right after the one before it. Their dark and candle lit stage set up lended itself well to their presence. MyME uses two very distinct sides to their sound, working this very high level spaced out, almost creepy side to their work, taking deliberate steps in their sound with the mellower section. However, and what ultimately makes them a good show, is their abrupt turn into the heavy side of the sound, working in some almost industrial tricks and gothic feels molded into this straight up guitar heavy, scream it out approach, marking some very strong movement. What makes MyME a good overall show is their presence, using strobes, candle light and this deep purple black light to illuminate the stage, matching against their huge sounding, gothic turned raging sound. Christopher's vocals are actually quite unique as well, moving in some different tones and directions with the backdrop, giving a layered approach to the whole package. MyME is ultimately a good band with a lot of potential to create some huge shows and sounds in the very near term.
