Artist History
Doc Wesson has thirty years of “dues paid”
experience in show business and entertainment.
Singing, Songwriting, and performing music has
taken him all the way from the house band at the
legendary Palomino Club in North Hollywood, to
the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville as
a drummer and singer for Jeanne Pruitt.
Doc has toured the U.S. and Europe extensively,
as well as appeared on Hee Haw, On Stage, The
Beach Boy’s Endless Summer, and the Grand Ole
Opry television show. He has sung on internationally
released country and gospel CD’s and on the soundtrack
of “Tomboy”.
Doc has performed at the Singer/Songwriter festival
in Frutigen, Switzerland, and country music
festivals in Badischl, Austria, and Sao Paulo,
Brazil. To round out his career, he has worked
as a morning radio personality and recorded
‘character’ voices in commercials and children’s
recordings
Doc also produced several radio shows for
syndication. ‘Letters from the Trail’ was created
to chronicle the Great American Cattle Drive ’95,
and featured western poetry and cowboy songs from
the best in the business in ’96. The show was
aired in seventy five markets nationwide and received
great reviews.
Currently Doc owns and operates a digital recording
studio, where he writes and produces jingles for
radio and television, does voice-overs, and records
various artists.
His latest CD, “Tacky Tunes From Texas” is a
collection of ten totally tasteless tales put to
rhythm and rhyme. “Tacky Tunes From Texas” has
received airplay all over Texas with “Discount
Love Affair (The Wal-Mart Song)” being one of the
most requested. The following stations have aired
Doc’s latest creation:
KZPS, KPLX, KSCS, KHYI, KTFW, KNON

BEHIND THE BARN RECORDS SIGNS DOC WESSON TO LUCRATIVE RECORDING CONTRACT
Granbury, Texas - Doc Wesson president of Behind the Barn Records announced the signing of himself to his own record label. The one CD deal due to be released January 1, 2001 is a "...test of my ability to sell product" according to Mr. Wesson. "If I don't do well with the first release I'll have to let myself go, there won't be any sort of artist development going on here at Behind the Barn Records".
The CD "Tacky Tunes from Texas" is a collection of ten totally tasteless tales put to rhythm and rhyme. Confused country that aspires to be a cross between Roger Miller and Frank Zappa but falls short on every effort. |
