    Artist description
Phil Davis constructed a recording studio (Brick House Studio) beginning in 1990 and performs with local area musicians (Bruce Hughes, Steve Brown, John Ledford, Toby Millican, Donn Mee, and Terry LeClair to name a few.) In the mid-90’s, Davis’ studio began to take shape, physically and sonically. Together with Bruce Hughes, Davis recorded 14 songs which became the first CD release from “Brick House Records” (Davis&Hughes-“The Palix Project”); 13 of the 14 songs were written by Davis&Hughes. This songwriting/recording project allowed Davis to re-establish prior label and publishing connections via this newly recorded CD. Davis also continued to refine his studio engineering/producing skills along with his songwriting capabilities. Davis’ newest venture is a rock opera called “The Soul of Simon”. It is a good versus evil story comprised of 40 pages of script and 15 songs, 11 of which have been recorded and mastered to-date.
    Artist History
Philip D. (Peter) Davis has traversed many paths during his musical career. It began in the tiny, coastal fishing village of South Bend, WA. The grandson of Helen M. Davis, composer of Washington’s official state song “Washington My Home”, Phil was raised around music. He took classical piano lessons for 14 years, played in the school concert and pep bands, and also in several rock bands (The UFO’s, Running Fire, and The Graven Image, to name a few). After graduating from South Bend, he attended the University of Washington, but study did not seem to quench his musical thirst. While attending school in Seattle, Davis performed in bar bands at night and went to classes during the day. One of the more successful of these bands was “The Peter Davis Revue-A Tribute to Elton John” which toured Canada and the West Coast, including The Troubador in Las Vegas. At the beginning of his junior year at the UW, Davis withdrew from school and joined the well-known Seattle band “Bighorn”. Managed by Scott Soules, Bighorn had developed a very popular live act, but did not have a recording contract. Songs written by Davis and Bighorn drummer Steve Adamek led the band to a production agreement with Marty Shaer and Little Mt. Recording Studios in Vancouver, B.C. Shaer produced Bighorn’s first album, and shortly thereafter placed it with Columbia Records in the U.S., and CBS International for Canada and the remainder of the world. The album was moderately successful, and led to tours as supporting act for Boston, Van Halen, The J. Geils Band, Elvin Bishop, Journey, Wet Willie, New England, and others. Following Bighorn, Davis joined veteran Portland singer/songwriter Johnny Koonce, and performed with Johnny’s band, “Johnny & the Distractions”. The band had one album released on A&M Records at that time, and recorded a second album for A&M with Davis playing keyboards, doing bass/horn charts, and assisting Johnny and producer Al Kooper. John & Ivy Bauer managed and booked the band, and Davis performed several West Coast dates prior to and following the second album’s release (Johnny Koonce-“Got My Eye On You” on A&M).Exhausted after being on the road for nearly 10 years, Davis moved from Seattle back home to South Bend in 1988; he did not record or perform for two years.
