Artist description
Well ,Well the new album from "Peter J Polo" is finally here! After a promising single in fall 99'
(Living For Survival) Where was the whole album due
spring 2000? Well in-between police drama, baby mama drama, his C.E.O. at Citientertainment head-on coll ision death(NBA star/t'wolves guard Malik Sealy) all in 2000,but wait it doesn't stop there,
Pete was brutally stabbed in the face in a street fight. Then some m.c. comes out with a similar name
acting like he did'nt know! Well, back up off
the johnson! T he real muthaphukka the underground
has been waiting for since the dayz of cutting and
playing breaks on 90.7 FM KPFK 's Afro-dicia radio prog{95-96') and freestylin' at the Goodlife cafe'(95-97'),and small extra roles in commercials, and a movie iz Phukki n Here!
You know what I'm not mad at Peter Polo anymore for making us wait. I even like the addition of the
"J" in his name. After listening to the whole album
by excuse me,(The Boogiewoogie Wonderman)Peter J Polo ,I'm so mad at the industry and politic s slowing him down! Peter J Polo iz my sh!t christmas
2001.Put this in any hiphop head or gangsta's stocking and he or she will smile with joy!!! Beatwise it's like a mixture of Dr.Dre with A Tribe
Called Quest Vibe to it. I really liked "Some people boun ce","BoogieWoogie Wonderman","Great Bank
Robbery",damn I could'nt get over how good the production was on those. He even had a few good
radio-friendly songs like the dance-oriented"The
Peter Polo Show" and "just 2 be wit U".It sounds like the "Boogiewoog ie Wonderman " has been working
on his production skills this time. Hmmm! I wonder(
pun intended). Now,Peter's Flow iz tight as well but,it's a little different than 99's "Living For Survival a little,I guess because he stabbed in the
jaw with a screwdriver while recording some of the
tracks this past summer.I like it cause ,it's sounds less mad and angered, but it's more cool or just kickin it type of flow. But don't think the "Wonderman" ain't gonna come with the rapid-fire
"I'll smoke yo ass out "type of flow.He brings it ,
but even better he tells a good story with it instead of all the braggidicio. "Great Bank Robbery" is a good dre-ish(phone-tap) type of beat
and he keeps me rollin, laughin and trippin ,while
he rhymes about robbing a bank. This iz a surprise
good album thru -n-thru. You can tell Peter been
in the lab making sure this will make a lot noise
all thru 2002. I can say Peter Polo iz highly recommended beatmaker/keyboardist too! That'll make
you snap yo neck screammin damn!!! Peter J Polo iz
shakin' thangs up 2002! A whole lot industry people are slippin' and sleepin' this go 'round if
you don't know to phukk with this kid!! Pete gotz
lots of personality into these songs,so it's funny,
goofy, but kind of gangsta-thuggish at time due to
real streettopic matter. I'm just mad at record executives who been holdin back on one of my favorite rap artist. Please try some this and it a
be just what the doctor order for you! Peter J Polo
a.k.a The Boogiewoogie Wonderman iz Coming out!!!!
Pe ter J Polo -"BoogieWoogie Wonderman" Full-length
CD out in 1st week in December 2001. Get it here or where you can ,while supplies last.

Artist History
A former radio-DJ/engineer for the Afro-dicia radio program on 90.7 KPFK FM in North Hollywood 95'-96'.Emcee'd at South Central's Good Life Cafe'
regularly from 95'-97' at the open mic spot that
started so many careers in LA.After dancing and being t ypical foolish in a few videos here and there for other artist he hooks up with the late
Minn.T'wolves guard Malik Sealy's Citientertainment
inc. After a year or more Malik's tragic death in a
head on collision put's Pete's album on the back burner for aw hile.A few parts in commercials like
the"Giant girl lives guy" in a women's bra commercial(I love it when the giant lady's bra falls crushes the ground) and the tiny part in the upcoming Wesley Snipes movie "Zig Zag".Waiting to
see if Manhattan's Citient ertainment gives him the push to "take us somewhere ,where we can get high again" he starts his own production company,Children of Da Atom Music inc. Specializing
in hot beats for the street.Already got people looking for hot tracks on pal L.A. emcee Prec ise ,and possible "Heathenz" album, and Jerzey's MDC crew. Peter J Polo is real emcee that's paid dues
over the last seven years in LA.Being that he is a bi-coastal mc who has lived all over the country,
he knows what it is to be down and out in L.A. with
out nothing or no place to go."My pops kicked me out the house a couple of times and I had to survive the best way I could, group homes, alcholic or drug rehabiltation homes thru South Central to
West L.A. . I was a troubled youth growing up,drinking ,dru gs,hustlin,robbery,I guess I had to
grow up on my own to know what it is to survive.I moved back and forth to Mom's in the Midwest then back here to Pop's in LA,Then I guess after a while
I wore them out, I stayed out east for while and even went to coll ege for a minute. I started getting my head together studying about 5% and
Islam and Hindu. It gave some focus to my life and
structure to make something of myself. It still a
long road to where I wanna be with my music. I just
play my keyboard and synthesizer sometimes to relieve the pain and sorrow that I endured in my life. I was raised in a middle class family for a
little while, but I was trippin out all time, runnin
away from home, staying over friends'house. I remember my Mom used to beat the hell out of me, she probably thought I was crazy at times, she knows I done calm down and just chillin' thou,I got
high blood pressure and I'm just healing a broken
thumb and stab wound.I don't drink as nearly as much as I used to because my Pops always tells me
most Indians can't handle their liquor so I chill
wit 1 or 2 beers a day. I used to drink 3 40'ounces
before it gets dark every day from when I was 17 to
24. I lot of homiez tell me all the time about how
alcohol messes up ya liver! So I really paid a ttention to the OG's cause I knew They already been there and back.I was just like anybody else
drinking and lifting weights but after awhile shrunk up anyway.I hope with this album I take people on journey with the music. I did'nt sample
that much,I used keyboards mostly, guitars and synthesizers. All original melodies except for "I'm
a hold it down" I just changed it a little from the
old school song with the bassline and added the rest of the tracks.np |
