Artist description Dallas based band with diverse and influential rock music with a female edge. Alli has been likened to Ann Wilson, Gwen Stefani, Alannis Morisette, Pat Benetar, and even James Hetfield. With her distinct vocal stylings she brings female vocals to a new level. Jay and Jody make up our rhythm section with agressive attack and dynamics to build energy and slam you rhythmically in the face. We have two CDs worth of material and just finished a 3 song demo working with Dan Workman and Rodney Meyers (ZZ Top, Destiny's Child, Clint Black, Smashmouth). Artist History Originally starting as a cover band under the name of Vertigo (and then Absence of Mind) approximately three years ago. We just decided one day we didn't want to play covers anymore and start writing our own orginals under the name of Rise. We then found that name was taken by a metal band in CA and decided on Fragment instead. In August of 2000, the bass player at the time Jody left the band to pursue other interests. The band remained a three piece (Jay, Alli, and Woody) for the next two years until a freak emergency caused the current bass player to leave two weeks before the band was scheduled to be in the studio. A phone call later Jody came back to the band and Fragment was restored to a whole. After finishing in the studio in Late July and facing a trying learning process with hardcore producers We are now ready to hit the scene. 'It is an honor to play with such dedicated musicians', Woody says. With their talent, work ethic, and melodic stylings, we are sure to here more from 'THE TURNING' in the future.
