Artist History On an unusually cold February morning in Dallas, Todd Walker hung up the phone with Josh Goode and Lance Rhoads. After months of auditions, call-backs, and letdowns, the line-up was finally complete: they had a bassist. With the addition of Chad Cable, Mr. Lucky was in a perfect position to quench the thirst of so many music lovers in the area looking for "something different." Although today's musical pallate may be discolored with the overpowering elements of dark agression and volume, Mr. Lucky is a band that uses brighter colors such as melody, harmony, and passion to enhance their music. This music isn't about being in or out of style, although in time it will be popular. This isn't about experience in the music business or lack thereof, even though members of Mr. Lucky have opened for acts such as Live and Eric Johnson, have a degree in music theory and composition among them, and share over 50 years of collective musical training and practice. This is about that basic, cerebral form of communication with an audience, while entertaining them. This is about giving an audience what they want, without patronizing them. You might find your knees scraped after "Vegas" and your arms sore after "STD," but Mr. Lucky guarantees one thing : your ears will want more. This band has already begun to light up the Dallas area playing in festivals and local venues. The audience is responding, and growing every day. In time, where nu-metal and party pop reigned supreme, we'll begin to see Mr. Lucky's brand of infectious, melody-driven funk/rock on the charts.
