Artist History
Born in a time of geek revile, Rob Spectre grew up a product of years of social exile from a small town in Kansas. Rob suffered the many slings and arrows of growing up geek in America; the revulsion, the physical and psychological torture, and the loneliness that uncoolness brings. Hearing the jocks and preps of his day headbanging to Nirvana and blasting Dr. Dre, the music that would become Arturo Got The Shaft was born. Everything that was cool immediately found ejection from Rob's musical stylings as part of his attempt to break free from the intense shackles created by his geekness. Finding himself in South Central Nebraska, Rob soon created what Arturo Got The Shaft is today: rock music by geeks, for geeks. This is but the first chapter for the band. Spreading the Uncool Evangelism is the focus of the band, bringing new tunes to ears sore with the 21st century's corporate prepackaging. The time has come for the Geeks to reign. |
