Artist History In the beginning (1996) there was the Shadow (Tim, guitarist) who possessed a desire to share his creative vision and a hunger to kick the world in the ass. Already a prestigious figure in the visual art world with his unique paintings, he still felt a need to let his musical talents be heard. Shadow first met Kenny (bass) after auditioning for two of the same projects in the San Diego area. The projects became less than what each expected and the two sought out other outlets. Two years went by for the frustrated and weary Shadow when he decided that it was finally time to seek the rhythmic compliments to his intense style that until then had never been approached. He remembered the crunching tone of Kenny's bass sound and finally they decided to work together. The duo went through many vocalists, drummers and other guitarist all proving to be unworthy counterparts that could never understand the motives that drove the two. Months went by until Kenny finally tracked down the drummer that had previously left an impression on him. Upon hearing the hypnotic riffs they were forming Casey (drums) immediately decided to make his stone solid style of controlled chaos a permanent fixture of the group. The fog of uncertainty had finally lifted by music that owned lingering melodies and head bobbing rhythms within them, it was then that the sound of rINGuNDERgROUND was born. The band knew they had solidified the musical side of their hunger and so the hunt for their voice had begun. After a few years and most of the throats in San Diego had passed, the band found a vocalist (Shane) that fit the description of the rINGuNDER sOUND. It was in a small pub in Pacific Beach that they heard their future vocalist sing and it was only a matter of time that he fell prey to the pursuit of the bands determination. In April of 2001 the group was finally complete and they are now becoming the strong force in the underground nu-metal scene that they knew they always could be. September of 2001 brought about their first demo that was self recorded, mastered, produced and duplicated by the band. This demo is now in the first stages of a process called “operation Locust” which is the relentless distribution of the four-song EP all over the Southern California, Pheonix and Las Vegas areas. Already thousands of copies have been given out at the concerts, clubs, bars, parks, stores and sidewalks of the Southwest and now the rINGuNDERcROWD is growing by the day. The band plans to satisfy the growing desires of the masses by displaying their sound live all over the world.
