Artist History
Wave World is a spin-off of Dutch electronic pop act Solipsist Paradise (CD
"Aware"), which has had quite some airplay on Dutch national radio with
their
single "Naked".
Wave World started in 1997 with the idea of combining traditional electronic
music (like Klause Schulze, Tangerine Dream) with modern dance
music.
The first 9 songs Wave World composed, have never been released. Not because
no one liked them, but because the band had another bunch of songs as well.
And with *those* songs the act was signed by leading Dutch electronic
record company "Quantum Records" in 1998. Wave World more or less forgot
about the first tracks. And as a result, in March 1999 Wave World premiered
with their much praised CD "Species.
In the meantime Wave World has released 3 albums, 1 CD single and one VHS /
NTSC video with their most recent live show. The band has developed into an
international act that has been praised worldwide for its groundbreaking
computer graphics show. Wave World has headlined important electronic
festivals like Alfa Centauri 2000 (The Netherlands) and KOMP 2001(Poland).
The band has also gigged the USA (Star's End, The Gathering, Echoes).
Wave World's music has developed from rather traditional ambient electronic
compositions (layed back atmospheres, sequences, soft melodies and sizzling
effects sounds) to avant-garde ambient tracks on the one hand, and extremely
danceable club tracks on the other.
On this MP3.com-site we will basically upload new, danceable material - with
*one* exception: We have decided to upload some of our non-released first songs.
Why? Well, several reasons. In the first place we like the tracks so much
that we think it's a shame to leave them unheard. Second, many people have
been asking us "What happened to those old songs - where can we buy them?" And last but not least, the members of Wave World are power-users of the internet. It is an extremely convenient place to exchange information, data, music, etc.. That is why we thought it would be a great idea to release "The First Wave World Album" only on the net. We have called it: "Another strange day on Gonxa..." We know that this is kind of an *inside* joke, but we are not going to spoil the fun and we promise you that averyone who will visit the official Wave World website (www.waveworld.tv) will soon find out what it's all about.
Have fun... |
