Artist History
The Law Abiding Citizens are a ska band based in chicagoland. Founding members Mike, Steve, and Ed started the band in May of 2000 in the suburbs of Chicago. After playing together as a three piece band for 8 months they decided to add Amy, Lauren, Mike, and Sara to compete a horn section that would complete the band. Unfortunately everyone except Amy has since quit. The band added initially only one saxophone in the name of Julia Cleveland to make up for the departures. Since that time the band has added 2 trombone players to fill out their sound. (Mark LaPaglia and Luke Wonnell) They have played with bands such as Stircrazy, Sad Hannah, Ecuador, Two Minutes Later, and many others. Their first recording titled "The Kimo Sessions" which was recorded with the original lineup (recorded in September of 01 at Little Beck Studios in Chicago)included two of their more popular songs, "Guitars Are Cool Again" and "Punk Rock Girl". This recording of Punk Rock Girl can still be heard here on mp3.com. After the lineup change the band began work on their self produced and self recorded full length album. The band decided to release five songs intended for the album as an EP titled "Living Vicariously". "Everything" and "I Met Her on the Internet" can be heard on mp3.com and are featured on the EP. The band is still in the long and tedious process of completing the 20 song full length album. |
