Artist description
We produce songs that transcend genre and do so on the first take
with a four-track recorder. We are simple men.
We believe the true nature of a song lies in the spark of an impulse or synapse,
and that the best way to capture such a pure human idea is not with hours
of steady, droning recording, nor with a butterfly net and a Ziploc bag. .
Rather, the answer is to do it spontaneously as possible and see what happens.

Artist History
Founded in mid-2000 by a posse of slightly-skilled musicians, The Haystacks
are a legion of nerds who would probably make better roadies or sound
technicians than musicians.
The band has no solid lineup, but makes sure to rotate new, fresh members in
as it seems fit. . and to usher out old, uncool members as their popularity dwindles.
The band's pinnacle was reached in May of 2001, when a guitar, a bass, a
drummer, a lead singer wearing an rainbow afro and a chicken bucket
on his head, a trombone, and a tuba sauntered onto a high school
stage for a city-wide battle of bands. The Haystacks took first place overall
and left the stage embraced by their community and very well nourished
with booty.
Not really.
Instead, they moseyed on stage, were greeted by a baffled chatter, played one
song. . (as compared to the five or six that were expected of the preceeding
grunge and metal acts). . and disappeared from the stage, saluted by still more
baffled chatter.
It was a startling success |
