Artist History *Teresa* is a 20 year-old singer/keyboardist/synth player from the Baltimore/D.C. area. She started out playing the piano around three or four years of age. She's a classically trained pianist and took lessons for eight years in Dayton, Ohio. She has played countless recitals, concerts, competitions, church services, talent shows, and judgings. As a young child, she impressed audiences with her ability to play songs that were usually performed by those older than her-playing Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Bartok, Debussy, etc. On the side, she taught piano lessons to beginning students. But at the age of 12, before moving to Maryland, she decided she wanted to give up piano and classical music because her hectic schedule prevented her from any social activities and her musical tastes were expanding. And it wasn't long until *Teresa* acquired a passion for rock music. Inspired by acts like Hole, Bikini Kill, Alanis Morissette, NIN, and Nirvana, *Teresa* started rockin' out on the guitar. She was in a couple of bands before deciding to go back to her roots, only with a new twist. Now she plays what has been described as a mix of alternative, electronic, classical, and pop. She sings now and plays on a Yamaha S80. She writes all of her lyrics and music. And don't worry-she still picks up the guitar here and there and she still loves playing the classical tunes in her spare time. You might even hear her throw in a classical song or two into her live performances from time to time!
