Artist description
Jed is a popular American-based performer whose style is folk and roots are Celtic. His album, STREETS OF FALL RIVER is a collection of original and traditional songs drawn, in large part from the Irish immigrant experience. Some of Jed's original songs focus on the experience of his own family; stories passed on from great-grandfather and grandfather to grandson and son, some tell tales taken from the immigrant and American Civil War history books, while still others tell a more personal story. Through his words and music Marum shines; a celebration for family, a respect for tradition and love a for his heritage. Marum is an easy going, humorous performer with a tale to tell and a song to sin |

Press Reviews
Streets of Fall River is a very interesting and moving album, beautifully written, arranged and performed! - P. Smith in "The Advertiser," England - Dec, 2000.
Jed tells these stories with simplicity and conviction in a collection of excellent quiet listening. - John Brophy in "Irish Music Magazine," Feb, 2001
The songs - mostly original, a few traditional - come from the same deep, independence-inspired, Irish Catholic, Celtic roots as much of America's folk and country and even western music, at the same time encompassing pathos and delight. Streets of Fall River resonates with the depth of ancestral ties and generations of narrative soaked in the salty tears of hope that never seem to dry. - Tom Geddie in "Buddy Magazine," Jan 2001
"Prayer from Little Round Top" a track from the STREETS OF FALL RIVER is the song one of the great Irish poets might have written had he marched to Gettysburg with Jed's Irish immigrant from Alabama. The melody seems to well up from some misty glen in Connemara, wrapping the soldier's sad story in a teardrop. It may mark me as a sentimental Irish man to say this, but if you can listen to this haunting song without finding your eyes moistening, then somewhere along life's way, you've lost your soul. - James P. Gannon former Wall Street Journal editor and author OF IRISH REBELS, CONFEDERATE TIGERS in the "Rappahannock Record"
