Artist History
The SHADE story from the beginning
SHADE got started in December, 1999. The members of our band met each other through other projects already in the mid-90's and one of them, for example, got to join the Finnish Much Music Jyrki's snowboard tour. Playing for 3000 people was a pretty good "band school" for such beginners as us since we were only about 15 year old guys back then.During the first year of SHADE we did a few gigs in the neighbourhood of our hometown, Järvenpää. During that period of time the band's musical style defined itself and things started to happen. In 2000 we had rather successful gigs and got to support some well-known Finnish bands like Egotrippi and Kemopetrol. On a supporting gig for Kemopetrol at the Casino club, Järvenpää, we met Jari Mänttäri from Petroleum Music Agency who later became our manager. In 2001 we kept on doing as many gigs as possible and in the autumn we got a chance to do a fantastic four gig tour in Finland supporting The Rasmus.
In 2001 we also started to prepare our promo single with Mikko Raita and Janne Riionheimo – two young and skillful fellows who recorded, mixed and produced the whole thing. The recordings took place in Helsinki (at Seawolf studios for example) and mastering at Finnvox by the master himself, Mika Jussila. The promo single, including songs Alone and The Last Day, comes out in the end of 2001 and it will be our first recording to be sent out to record labels. Currently, we're just working on new songs and looking forward to the future. So… that's all about the SHADE story - so far.
Remember to SHADE the planet! |
