    Artist History
The Peoples Alibi were formed by Tommy Barnes in late 2001. After playing an early gig as a 3 piece it was decided that another guitarist was needed. Joe Duffy was brought in and quickly settled in. After a few more months of gigging and a back line up change with Dave Watson and Dave Scally being brought in on Drums and Bass respectively TPA have been going well. Being compared to SLF, Minor Threat, Rancid and early Pistols these drunkin upstarts pull on a variety of influences.

    Press Reviews
The Peoples Alibi / Minus Three / The Aforementioned Friday 8th November 2002 Cathouse, Glasgow The Peoples Alibi start off in their usual fashion by playing their instrumental intro, 'Authority' and the "fan-f**kin-tastic" 'Feed Off Your Aggression', which I may have mentioned before as being a bit of a favourite of mine. They sound brilliant and Tommy especially is becoming more animated every time I see them, although it has to be said that all the bands tonight have put on a good show despite the small crowd. When freed from his guitar Tommy runs about the stage and down into the bit at the barrier and Joe frequently runs across the stage to mess about with Dave. I have to say that as I was taking some extra pictures tonight I wasn't able to totally concentrate on doing a review, but there's plenty of smiling faces on stage and it all seems to be going well, but then I realise that Tommy is still running about and not getting back to playing his guitar. Turns out he's given it to 'the guitar tech' who has presumably ran away and pawned it for beer or something as it never arrives back! Minus his guitar he seems to double his efforts elsewhere and becomes a crazed blur of tartan and spiky hair. The result is a very energetic performance that although lacking in the musical department proves very entertaining in other ways, although I think I missed a couple of falls! Possibly not the best night for winning over new fans but definitely one I won't forget in a hurry. Zelda http://www.zeldasworld.dabsol.co.uk/live42.htm The Peoples Alibi: 'Get Up, Stand Up' EP 2002 Self Released After an impressive, but slightly rough live demo and recent blistering live performances I had been really keen to get this EP and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I've been listening to it constantly. For starters, an EP with ten tracks?! Then there are the much tighter, spruced up versions of the five songs that originally appeared on the live demo and finally, five excellent new songs, including my live favourite, 'Feed Off Your Aggression'. One of the main reasons I like The Peoples Alibi so much is that they don't sound like any one band. Their original style occasionally hints at a classic punk band but they seem to mix all the best stuff from the whole back catalogue of punk, old and new, to give them a great old school/street punk sound that's still melodic, catchy and very enjoyable. A great combination of lead guitar tunes, crunching guitars, grinding bass and pummeling drums all work together with gutsy vocals to produce lively, attitude filled songs. The diversity in sound is helped along nicely by having two vocalists who are suitably aggressive and snarly, but can also vary their delivery to suit the song and manage to remain tuneful rather than harsh. The song titles reflect the lyrical content; 'Feed Off Your Aggression', 'Plan Of Attack', 'Freedom 2 Fight', 'Personal Vendetta' and these are indeed aggressive and assertive but with an anthemic feel that's uplifting and brings a sense of unity. That said, there is still some variety in the song content, most notably on the introspective 'Everyday' and the almost pop song of 'Pretty Thing', but each song here is a glowing example of brilliant, original punk rock and I can't wait for the 30-track album! Zelda http://www.theboneyard.co.uk/zelda/tpacdrev.htm#tpa2 THE PEOPLE'S ALIBI - 'GET UP, STAND UP DEMO' CD Dual vocal fronted 4 piece People's Alibi weigh in with a 10 track demo album that goes straight for the throat. They pack their songs with aggression but not in a 'we're gonna fuck you up' way, but more rusty throats and pounding drums. A couple of songs stick out like the opener 'No Explanation' which features a really rocking vocal line sung by the second singer and 'Authority' which is on No Front Teeths compilation Global Hostility. Some of the songs are quite long for a punk band but generally there's some very cool punk rock on offer. THE PEOPLE'S ALIBI are a solid band with out a doubt and one that deserves to make an impact on the British Punk scene. NO FRONT TEETH http://www.nofrontteeth.co.uk/2003reviews.html
