Artist History Six Fingered Man is a Fresno, CA based emo/indie rock band that hopes to expand the horizons of the indie music world by writing unusually good music. The "emo mold" has produced countless untalented, run-of-the-mill bands; Six Fingered Man is not one of these. Six Fingered Man draws much of its influence from such acts as Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, The Juliana Theory, Noise Ratchet, Dashboard Confessional, and the Gloria Record (to name a few). However, it is not the band's goal to imitate any of these acts. The band is driven by their faith and a love of music. Six Fingered Man man met through Fresno Pacific University. Ken had played in a punk band in Los Angeles and Josh was still playing in a rock band of his own (which disbanded in 2001). The two decided to form their own band (Josh's side project at the time), but their initial attempts to form the band in 2000 failed because they could not find a quality drummer. About 8 months later, the two found Benji and asked him to play the second guitar in the band. Soon after, the three found their much needed drummer, Derek. Derek remained on drums for about a year, but it became evident that he was not able to make Six Fingered Man a priority, so the band replaced him with Ryan, whose own punk band had ceased to perform. Derek was moved to a third (auxilliary) guitar position, but he would soon be out of the band completely. Ryan meshed well with the band and had (has) a firm grasp on the musical style. Currently, Six Fingered Man is building a fan base and making plans to play throughout California. Their debut EP, The Restoration of Things Corruptible EP, is nearly finished and hopes are high.
