Artist History
For The Record formed back in late March of 2001 after the unfortunate demise of two other local bands. Thomas and Jake Schon were both in a fairly good pop punk band called Twice The Fun. Glen and Jake Pezz were members of the hardcore band fail-safe. After all was said and done with TTF and fail-safe the two jakes being longtime friends would occasionally play in the garage for fun.....Enter Thomas, Invited to play with the jakes once in a while it was nothing more than something fun to do on the weekends. Thomas left on a surf trip ethinking nothing of the jam sessions. In the meantime Jake S. booked a show under the false band name Smellhound. He then recruited Glen on bass who was quickly taught five or six songs days before the show. Upon Thomas's return he was informed of the show. The four practiced together once threw together a 20 min set and went into the show not knowing what to expect. Amazingly the show went off without a hitch not only that the energy and unity of the band at their first show was something unexpected. Just maybe the four piece was onto something with a combination of the melodic TTF sound and teh aggressive energy of fail-safe. After the show the band decided that they were for real and came up with the official band name For The Record. Since that night the band has played numerous shows and completed their first 6 song demo. Alive and very well For The Record is on the prowl ....watch yo' self. |
