Artist History
Got fascinated by the computer game music of the 80s. Discovered Wave and Electro, starting with Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy. Been hooked since, indefatigably looking for new styles and exciting grooves regardless of what subgenre they belong to. First MIDI equipment in '94. The groove research will never end... - To classify my output I set up different projects: *Resolution* deals with deconstruction of sound and decomposition. Harmony, melody and rhythm move between break-through and breakdown, get interweaved and resolved into a dense universal condition-like soundstream. - *Conversion* stands for the transition of atmospheres into music - classic composition contrary to 'Resolution'. - *Sinuosity* is the project for getting mad with complex imponderable grooves. *Incessantly* manifests the straight escalation. |

Albums
*Ambitious Playground* (1995-97, 21 tracks) assimilating my roots, always reconciled with the intention to develop a very own approach, not to do just one more track of a common style. From cinematic atmospheres (Conversion project) to uncommon grooves (Sinuosity). - *Resolution* (1998, 9 tracks) deals with the break-up of sound. The origin of this all-embracing stream defies the perception. - *Ray Rod in Sun Age* is an album of my side project - sublime cinematic soundscapes, influenced by Biosphere, Namlook, ambienty Moby, Namlook, Philip Glass... more at mp3.com/rayrod |

Press Reviews
'The absolute highlight of the homeproductions this month ... could have been released on a label like Touch or Staalplaat ... Recommended unconditionally.' - Sonic Seducer magazine about the 'Resolution' album *** 'Music that doesn't even touch the shallow surface of commercialism, it goes deep down and permeates the inner core. most definitely recommended." - Raw42 www.raw42.com/reviews/spheroid.html |
