Artist History
In the beginning Fur Immer was a lingering idea in the mind of its founder Garrick Staggs. It took five years to pull everything together and release the first CD, You Will Never Be Forgotten, last summer. It was only three months afterwards that Fur Immer wrote and released the second CD, Ghost's Of Winter, which saw a complete change in music style and theme. The result was an album all about the loss of love, the loss of life, the darkness of being alone, and the birth of new life. Featured as the closing number to the album is Anna's song, a peice written, at the time, for the soon to be born daughter of Tatiana Godinez. Though Tatiana's vocals were used only briefly on Ghost's Of Winter, the next CD will find much more of her vocals in a range of styles, taking full advantage of her Russian Accent. Tatiana and Garrick first met working at a local book store in Tulsa, Oklahoma three years ago. Garrick devides his time between writing music, a novel, and still working at the bookstore. Tatiana, who also still works at the book store, devides her time between working and her husband and daughter. |

Press Reviews
You Will Never Be Forgotten Fur Immer... Fur Immer is a local group that just released this, its first CD, on this, its own record label. The best way to describe this album is moody, danceable, and occasionally industrial. The first song called "Apollo's Belt" takes you on a jungle tour as you hear what sounds like a herd of roaring elephants coming at you. "Visioning You" has sounds of video games, machine guns, and lasers. "The Coming" and "Nothing Changes" both have a mystical chanting type feel. In "Nothing Changes," the chanting of "will you ever heal me?" picks up as the song increases in velocity. "Spirit" and "Never Say Goodbye" are both danceable melodies, while "Eastern Effect" has a sort of hip-hop flavor mixed with chants and screams recorded as if to should as if one were falling down a bottomless pit. The final cut on this interesting CD is the title track "You Will Never Be Forgotten." It's got a good beat and its one of the only songs where there is a message behind the song, with lyrics so to say. The album is full of danceable melodic beats. You can pick up a copy of "You Will Never Be Forgotten" at Border's and enjoy an obscure, good time.-URBAN TULSA........................... Fur Immer, Ghosts of Winter. If it had rhythm, it would be trip- hop. As it is, the misty electronic music of Fur Immer, aka Ponca City native Garrick Staggs, is simply an echo of the underworld -- subtle, spooky hums and whispers, just cohesive enough to still be called songs and alluring enough to make you stare into space. Created solely with computers, Staggs' subtle compositions drift on night winds, hinting at the meditation of "Chant" while aspiring to be the soundtrack to "The Next Blair Witch Project." Five of the eight tracks feature ghostly lyrics from a spectral Staggs, mostly about longing and hope. Available by contacting Staggs at icarus_descending@webzone.net.....THOMAS CONNER, TULSA WORLD |
