Artist History
Fern formed in August of 1995. Fern consisted of Jason Gaylor(singer/songwriter),Brian Snadon(Bass), Jay Sandidge(drums), and Brian Pierson(guitar). In 1996, they released their first EP "the orange album," and supported those songs by performing them at local venues. Not long after, the four continued to come up with new material, and took their talents to the whole Midwest region. After four persistent years, they released a full length album. Collecting the best of the best, and connecting with New-York-based Ted Nicely, the team released "monologue" in May of 1999. Just a few months later, they were on the road with the Goo Goo Dolls and Tonic on the mp3.com music and technology tour. Fern performed eight dates in two weeks throughout the Midwest and Northeast for thousands of screaming youth. In November of 1999 Brian Pierson left the band. Fern performed Aug 5th, 2000 with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fuel, Filter, Moby, Marcy Playground, and Our Lady Peace at the Rolling Rock Town Fair with a temporary guitarist, Eli Southard. Fern, now made up of three of the original members, has decided to take the "three-piece" route for now. Currently, they are in the studio working on new material. The album, not yet titled, is expected to be complete in the summer of 2001. |
