Artist description
Alectroboy is an electronic guru with a plasma torch burning inside of him, composing electronic music ranging from the exotic to the hypnotic. By day, Alectroboy slaves within the vast US military-industrial complex, inventing ways to save the world from the death rays of the future. By night, he switches on the other half of his brain and releases vast quantities of endorphins into his bloodstream. He then proceeds to record the soundtracks of his dreams and nightmares. Cynical and easily bored, Alectroboy is determined to take his music far from the safe cozy playpens of our spoon-fed culture. Give it a listen and get ready for a wild musical excursion! To hear higher quality G2 streaming sound clips of ALL the songs on Alectroboy's "High Time" CD, see his web site link below under "Artist links". |

Artist History
In 1968, Alectroboy's brother gave him a copy of "Switched-On Bach" by Wendy Carlos. He was only 9 years old then, but he vowed then and there that he would dedicate his life to making electronic music. He spent the next 6 years torturing his dad's reel-to-reel tape recorder in bizarre and frightening experiments. By age 12, he had won a radio music contest when one of his tape experiments was unleashed on the public airwaves in Buffalo, NY. In 1973, Alectroboy designed and built his first analog synthesizer at age 14. At 22, he built another synth, a digital one this time. When life and the real world got in the way, Alectroboy had to put his music on hold for a very long 17 years. In 1998 he began to build the studio he had dreamed of all his life with the help of family and friends. When he sat down to compose, the sounds burst forth and overwhelmed him like floodwaters from a ruptured dam. The speakers spilled out ecstasy, fear, lust, and the tears of six thousand lost days. Fellow musicians, family & friends celebrated and encouraged him to publish and promote the music that had been bottled up inside for so long. |
