Artist History
The Late John Doe, a punk/emo rock three piece, combines catchy emo riffs and melodic punk inspired vocals with energetic and emotionally charged live shows. Hailing from Fresno CA, The Late John Doe was formed in the summer of 2001. Their music has been compared to such groups as; Green Day, Nirvana, Third Eye Blind, and Ben Folds Five.
Together with their inspiring mix of intimately written originals and crowd pleasing covers, The Late John Doe has earned notoriety with industry professionals and club owners alike. This increasing respect has allowed the band countless opportunities to obtain an awesome array of loyal fans who sell out almost every show they play. The bands lineup consists of Ryan Ray (lead vocals/guitars), Ryan George (bass/vocals/keys), and Dallas Stoeckel (drums/vocals).
In June 2002, The Late John Doe went into Cobalt Recording Studios in Fresno CA to emerge with their debut 12-song full length album entitled Good Enough. This accomplishment, so early in the bands career, has lead to many promotional opportunities and high exposure events. These experiences, along with those to come, have assured each of the members that the path the have chosen is the right one and plan to take it as far as possible.
In August 2002, through a contact provided by Apoxy Records, The Late John Doe was selected to perform with Unwritten Law, Tommy Lee, and others at New Rock 104s Birthday Bash, a one-day event in Fresno CA. They have since been contacted by various promoters and labels for several compilation invites and gig trades.
Currently, The Late John Doe is briskly booking as many shows as possible and steadily writing new material to return to the studio by June 2003. The band is hoping to utilize their creative energy and intense ambition to eventually turn this musical endeavor into an experience only a select few are fortunate to enjoy, and they are ready to do whatever it takes to make this dream happen.
