Artist History
The Brew Ha Crew was formed in the summer of '92 at Haines Point in Washington DC. Grady and Forty are brother while 5th Element is their cousin. The three often hung out and drank most of the time. While doing just that on a summer day at the park Grady had a light bulb and said "We need a name!" 5th Element after a few seconds of thought said "tha Brew Ha Crew." Everyone took a swig and rubbed their chins and thought yeah that'll work. All three of them had rapped individually at some point and after drinkin and hangin out together for most of their lives they decided to start making songs together. Alot of the earlier music never made it to the studio until they buckled down and recorded WHUT! an energetic crowd rocker. Some of the local Dj's claimed it was too hard core for the radio even though it won the kiss it or diss it contest on WKYS. The BHC kept drinking and recording on and off. Forty began to enter and consistently win local battles and eventually dropped his debut album "2001 Bottles of Beer on the Wall". Grady and 5th formed their on group G5 with promises from a local label owner that they would be dropping their own effort after Forty's was released. The owner "changed his mind" on releasing Forty's album and everything else turned out to be a lot of lies. Convinced that family is the way to go, the Brew Ha crew reunited to continue bringin' it for all the heads that appreciate lyrics and beats that will hit hard no matter what the trends are. |
