Artist History
Nepotism was originally formed in 1999 under the name of "fist." The three original members (Brian - bass, Gary - guitar, and Trevor - drums) practiced in Trevor's basement during the 1999-2000 school year. During the summer of 2000, they enlisted a temporary singer, Colin, whom was taking a break from his other band.
The band's only performance as "fist." was during Trevor's moving away party in the summer of 2000. Their set included "Sugar" by System of a Down, an original song by Trevor and Brian called "Satan," and various other bits and pieces of popular songs.
When Trevor moved away following that summer, the band took in Mike as the new drummer and Lori as the permanent singer. With an eye set on the future, Brian and Gary decided to search for a new moniker for the band. After pondering the possibilities, Nepotism was selected as the new name for the revamped band.
During the 2000-2001 school year, the band wrote five original songs (with new ones in development), played at two parties, and the WTHS Coffee House. In March of 2001, the band decided to part ways with Lori over creative differences and enlisted Faith as the new singer of Nepotism.
With Faith on board, Nepotism has risen to even greater heights, both creatively and with a larger fan base. With Faith as the singer, the band wrote nine songs and played at eight shows. In September 2002, Faith announced her resignation from the band to focus more on her college work. Nepotism played on with Effervescent's Jeff as the temporary singer for their show at the TLA in Philadelphia.

Press Reviews
"Its obvious to anyone who has seen Nepotism play before that they have really been practicing and have actually become a very tight sounding live band. Faith's vocals were on, Gary and Brian definitely increased their stage presence, and Mike provided a backbone to the rythm of everything. Definitely the pleasant surprise of the day was watching Nepotism completely blow the fans away." -Jeff of Effervescent- |
