Press Reviews
"Last Thursday my boss handed me a CD and said I had to review it. Okay, that’s not a problem. At least it wasn’t until I looked down to see that the CD was that of a local band. My very first local review is on Mint 6 Ten, a group of four guys from Cincinnati’s East Side.
I’ve heard a lot of buzz surrounding Mint 6 Ten but haven’t ever heard them myself I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I knew it would at the very least be decent since a lot of people in the local scene think pretty highly of these guys.
From the first track “Carolina Trace” I was immediately impressed with the obvious vocal and instrumental talent displayed by Mint 6 Ten. Zach’s prevalent bass lines separate him from the rest of the pack while both guitars, played by Kris and Josh hold the basis of the songs with ease. Steady and strong drumbeats from Nick keep excellent timing and rythym...
...It’s quite obvious that Josh has extreme talent when it comes to both vocals and songwriting. He has the ability to take his gritty vocals, to a gutteral scream such as you would find on “Black Tie Affair”, with Kris adign an extra layer with screams that can penetrate your soul.
Overall as a group, Mint 6 Ten has astounding skills when it comes to putting together lead vocals, background vocals and instrumentation. As long as these kids can keep turning out the music they will only get better and better as time goes on. It would not surprise me at all if Mint 6 Ten gets offers from labels in the next couple of years."
