Artist History The Artist used to be called Prince. But then, in a bizarre twist, he changed his name to a symbol, and people were like "What the fuck!?", "how are you supposed to pronounce that?" So, for lack of anything better, they just called him The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. But that was not his style, so he shortened it to just The Artist. But that didn't work either. So he changed his name back to Prince. Now the world breathes easy again.
