Artist description
Like many bastard children conceived in the back of an ‘88 Mercury Topaz after a night spent drinking cold beer and dancing to Dokken, Heather Hates You came out of the womb with an attitude and not a clue to who its father was. Despite numerous attempts to ascertain paternity on daytime talk shows, results were inconclusive. As part of a classified CIA plot to grow a secret army of ass-kicking rock superheroes Heather Hates You was turned over to the state to be raised on a strict diet of rock gods like Weezer, Guided By Voices, Buffalo Tom, Rancid, The Descendents, Radiohead and other high-octane Prophets of Rock. (A similar plan concocted to raise rock superheroes by providing them with access only to Lionel Ritchie ballads was aborted by the CIA when the test subjects died horribly, and has since been declassified.) Little else is known about the entity that calls itself Heather Hates You, other than the off-the-chart results. When asked, the CIA predictably claims not to have knowledge of the project.
Only the following information is a matter of public record: With numerous successes accredited to his former, award-winning band Phineas Gage and much airplay on WOXY 97X, Cincinnati’s top modern rock station, David Buse felt he was ready to up the ante and try to break into the thriving Boston music scene with his brand of pop-punk and rock. In 2000, David Buse packed his bass and his melodic sensibilities and left Ohio for the more civilized Northeast where he met sushi-loving drummer John Pappas (formally of Reptile House and Worcester area faves Catch-22.) Immediately seeing the benefits of a musical collaboration, John, a classically trained percussionist ruined by punk rock, introduced Dave to Rick Subrizio. Rick, a versatile solo guitarist and songwriter who did a tour of duty with John in Catch-22, joined up, and the legend was born. With many diverse musical influences, years of experience in various music scenes and cities, and a rocking collection of original songs and the occasional cover, Heather Hates You is ready to bring their unique musical experience to your club. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to expect dancing, drinking and rocking crowds. You have been warned.
