    Artist History
After the break up of Darren and Peter’s old band Jagged Edge, Darren set about forming a new original's band, after talking to a few people he found Barrie Jarman and Steve Rickard and kept Peter on for drums, they now make up Sensus, they all have different music tastes which blends together to create the Sensus sound. They recorded their first “live” CD with the help of their personal friend and sound engineer Henry Szwedko within 2 months of forming. After getting a set together they played their first show in Wigan at the Collective music venue where they got a warm welcome from the other bands and people who came to see them for the first time as a band, they rocked the place! The CD went out to a few music venues and within a couple of days started to get a great response from the venues, headline show at the Bull and Gate in Kentish town and headline at Gossips in Soho and still getting calls back from various venues to go and play for them. For a 3-month-old band, they are definitely going places. Now Sensus are getting more songs together in order to get into the studio to record their first CD as requested by friends and new fans of the band. The title of the CD will be “Inertia” and is being recorded at Heartbeat studios very soon, in the meantime they will be all around the UK promoting themselves and getting heard by hundreds. Watch out, they are gonna blow you away!

Review: Sensus Live at the Collective Wigan Saturday night saw the eagerly awaited debut gig by Slough rock band Sensus. Born from the ashes of the now defunct Jagged Edge and featuring former members Darren Langshaw on base with Pete Sinanan on drums Sensus did what they came to do. They Rocked the place. The band got off to a somewhat shaky start with an instrumental number designed to give the sound engineer a chance to get some levels. With frayed nerves obviously showing the lads ended the number with a good few gripes to the sound engineer that they couldn’t hear themselves or each other well enough. A typical musicians gripe as you will know if you’ve ever been lucky enough to play in a band, or unlucky enough to be the man behind the desk. With the bands own sound man Henry Szwedko running around trying to eliminate the problems and the resident engineer frantically tweaking his settings, things began to come under control and the band launched into their first number proper, “Copper Beeches” this is one of two Jagged Edge numbers which the band perform and one they could maybe do without. Lead singer Steve Rickard bravely battled to overcome his nerves, and a song that’s maybe just out of his range to put on a good performance but they were still a little shaky. Next up came “Sugar High” an old Coyote Shivers number, and now you could hear why Steve more than warrants his place in the band, even sounding a little like Fergal Sharkey as he put on a top vocal performance whilst ably supported by the rest of the band. Now they were getting into their stride. Next up came the rousing "London Needs A Hero" and the place is rocking, people are starting to sit up and take notice of the band. Then follows “Hold Your Breath” and the superb “She Can’t See The World” both original Sensus songs and the kind of material that will set them aside from the pack. By the final two songs, “Synthetic” and “Eat Less Move More” it’s hard to believe this is their first ever gig as the band get well into their stride and literally grow in stature as they play. By now they know they’re winning and clearly don’t want to stop. Dazza's got his head up and grooves along as only he can, Pete’s clearly in the zone on drums and playing out of his skin, whilst lead guitarist Baj starts throwing some shapes by now looking and sounding the part whilst all the time Steve belts out his lines like a seasoned pro, and more importantly like they mean something to him. The gig ended all to soon for band and audience alike but the great news is that there’s more to come. A lot more. Tony Monk
