VEGAS is an artistic conceptual project based on home studio production techniques only. All visual and sound designs are home made.

Press Reviews
"Vegas can write hooks that would land a whale. They have the songwriting "gift". Having POP sensibilities is similar to having Jazz sensitibilites. The listener can hear that they just know where things need to land. This is what gives me some hope that they'll mature their sound beyond being a rather derivitive band at the moment.
I like their use of guitars, although New Order and DM did it 10 years ago, it adds a useful element to their sound. They know how to use guitars with synth pop which is an important skill to get down.
The last few songs listed on their site Soul Appeaser and The Swan on the Pond show even more diversity to their influences as well as expose ... god help them ... some originality. I REALLY found The Swan on the Pond beautiful. Nothing like doing a spoken word tune to remove some song writing requirements and explore some new sonic volcabulary. The landscape they create is influenced by New Age. Its lack of plasticity tells the world that they are looking to do much more. I hope they learned from this tune the most because it has the elements of what will make them stand out in the future contained in it." David Willard @ www.synthpop.net |
