Artist description
Andi Phillips has been making noise in the Cincinnati area for quite some time now. A native of the Queen City, Andi was born into music.
Her mother, Donna, was at one time a well-known jazz singer.
Andi began singing at a very early age in the church and at school. It wasn't until she was in college at Wright State University in Dayton, however,
that she decided to pursue her musical dreams professionally.
Committing herself to rigourous vocal and dance training (she has won several dancing awards), Andi soon began entering and winning talent shows
at local clubs and on campus. Word of her unique sound and style spread quickly, and soon she was being asked to appear on other artists' CDs. She was
featured on several, the most notable being Bulldog Entertainment's "Natti's Finest," which won her many fans in Cincinnati and the surrounding areas.
Today Andi's songs can regularly be heard in the clubs and on the radio stations of Cincinnati, Dayton, and other nearby cities.
Andi feels, however, that her songs deserve a bigger, worldwide market. With that in mind she joined up with Parkland Productions and
producer Hemlock, another Cincinnatian, to handle her debut CD. Hemlock immediately put Andi to work with his group, Pops and Rock, on their CD " Stick and Move" (available at www.popsandrock.com). The sound that they've achieved can best be described as a perfect blend of
hip-hop, R&B, and pop.
"This CD is going to reach out to a LOT of people," says Troy Tyson, CEO of Parkland. " Andi's voice is similar to Brandy's or Whitney's, in the sense that
it has the ability to touch many, many music fans, and go beyond one genre."
Indeed, several quick listens to a few tracks on the CD will yield rap, dance, slow R&B, and more. With a single set to drop on September 1, and the CD scheduled for
release on October 1, Andi is definitely ready to take on the world!
