Artist History
No Strings Attached was founded in april 1999. After a few different names we chose the name No Strings Attached. There was no psychology behind that, we just thought it sounded good. Our music can be called punkrock, however we don't try to imitate other bands, we just want to make original music that sounds well.
Our first gig took place after only having rehearsed together a few times. That gig motivated us even more and we continued making new songs.
In july 2000 we recorded our first demo cd called Rubber Ducky at the Carlo Ooms Studios in Kaulille. It contains seven songs. If you want to know more about this demo, you should check out the discography page. This demo helped us quite a lot. We got the chance to play many gigs, including the first edition of the Minirock festival.
In december 2000 the Let's Play Punk and Hardcore Compilation was released, this cd contains most of the punkrock and hardcore bands that are active in Limburg. One of our songs, called "Guilt", is the first song on that record.
In august 2001 we played our first shows outside Belgium. We played some gigs in Germany and the Netherlands, together with Easy Way Out and Smooth Lee.
In november 2001 we went back to the Ooms Studios to record 5 new songs. These songs appeared in march 2002 on a three-way split cd, together with skapunk band Smooth Lee and emopunk band Easy Way Out, released on Let's Play Records.
In april 2002 Proud To Be Loud Records will release the "Rise Of The Loud Era" cd. A compilation cd containing 18 punkrock and hardcore bands from Limburg. "Alcoholic John" is our contribution to this record.
Meanwhile we continue playing gigs, because after all, that's what being in a band is all about.
