Mango Blue is a mix of influences and styles including Funk, Jazz and R&B with a strong Afro-Latin foundation. The band is composed of outstanding musicians from different parts of the world. Founded and directed by Ecuadorean bassist/singer and composer Alex Alvear, Mango Blue offers an exciting new flavor in Afro-Latin music. Great music to listen, infectious grooves to dance. |

Artist History
Mango Blue has been working extensively in the New England area since 1996, performing in every major Jazz, Latin and World Music festival, as well in Boston's most important live music venues. As of 2003, the band has re-located to infiltrate its sound into the New York music scene, performing steadily at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe every second saturday of the month, as well as the Village Underground as part of the Cuba Underground series.. |
