Artist description
LIBERTANGO was born in Sicily in 1993.
At the beginning, the band was involved in
Argentinian modern tango,of which Astor Piazzolla
is the leader. Lately, the field of action of LIBERTANGO
includes other musical expressions that come from
different parts of the world, from Brazil to Europe,
from South Italy to the Middle East..........
Nevertheless, LIBERTANGO, which has mediterranean identity,
loves melodies, that are greatly appreciated by the audience,
either in a "classical" or "jazzy" context.

Press Reviews
A few comments on the record.....
"This an exciting, adventurous and well planned
recording. The playing is magnificent and the music
of Astor Piazzolla is played with great emotion.
A great record!!"
KENNY BARRON
"I really think it is great. Very original, well
played and fun to listen to.The band has a great
sound and vibe. It seems to me this music has
a broad appeal, and could enjoy big success.
Best of luck"!
BOB MINTZER
"Libertango's choice of the Argentinian tango as
a launching point for their music is a
masterstroke. They've taken a form that already
contains elements from many styles of music and
invested their unique virtuosity and intelligence to produce a copletely personalized
and fresh extension of the Tango and beyond.
Their CD is beautifully produced, their musicianship
of the very highest order."
RALPH TOWNER
"I really enjoyed the CD. Really good improvisers
all.I also really like how you use the mediterranean
theme for the recording. The album has a concept
and I like that. Again congratulations on such
a beautiful CD!"
