Press Reviews
Gods Of Music - Jonathan Sanders - 03/2002:
"What Love Can Do" by Taking The Fly is quite a track. I can't say I was expecting much, not because of the band, but rather because of some low quality music I had subjected myself to in recent memory.
Boy was this a pick me up!
"It seems so very very real / Now I know exactly how it feels . . ." I'm learning how it feels to hear solidly performed music that works as a whole, not just in parts. And it is a good thing, I'm telling you that for sure. After several listens to this track, I can see good things in the future for Taking The Fly. Hopefully you will too.
For one, this music is extremely well played and recorded. I only wish I could have downloaded it. This is the kind of solidly performed background music that hooks listeners and makes fans of doubters. And the lyrics are well crafted, making me (as a lyric fan myself) want to delve further into the world of this particular song.
And while the vocals may not have been the greatest ever recorded, they weren't too shabby, which shows that while this band isn't perfect, they're sure to improve. That's a very good sign, especially for fans who are ready to listen for the long haul.
Give this track a listen, I'm sure you'll agree that "What Love Can Do" is a cool track from an up and coming band. I'll be looking for their waves to come my way. |
