Artist History Jay's musical "career" began at an early age. In one of many attempts to one-up his brother, Jay added electronics from a broken tape recorder to guitars they had built utilizing surveying stakes and fishing line. The signal, routed into an old stereo receiver, became astonishing sound (parents would later describe the sound with antonymous adjective). A songwriting career was born. Jay formed and played in several pseudo-rock bands throgh high school. However, after spending a disproportionate amount of time in front of the mirror analyzing hair style, little musical progress was made. In college Jay found folk (doesn't everybody?) and alt.country music and used the infulence to form several music groups to play on/around campus. However, after not spending an appropriate amount of time in front of the mirror cultivating proper image, few record contracts came. Finally, Jay discovered digital multi-track recording and said goodbye (for now) to failed music groups. Jay finds MIDI to be much more reliable than drunken band mates.
