Artist description We are a band of young people ranging in age from Mikey Lanz who is sixteen to Nick, Kris and Sean who are nineteen. We are a promising band from the Seattle area with an original sound. If our sound must be catogorized it would fall into Indie Rock, Punk, Funk, Blues, and Rock. We are not part of the MTV generation, but rather the ADD generation.

Artist History In the fall of 1998, in a neighborhood of Seattle, Nick and Kristofer started a band named Butt-Naked with Towels Around Our Waists prompted by the tradition of playing music after hot tubing. Nick originally played keyboard and Kris had just started playing guitar. The name BNTAW lasted less than a week, and was soon replaced by The Boxers. A long time friend Sean joined the band as "The Man on the Couch" (often sleeping) and later picked up the sax. Since then, Nick started playing the bass.    Next the trio needed a drummer. Nick's girlfriend suggested "the Freshman," also known as Mikey. All four band members had briefly attended Waldorf School together in elementary school. Band practice moved to Mikey's basement where Sean continued to lay on the couch. The last band member, Heidi, Mikey's on and off girlfriend, joined the band playing the guitar, piano and vocals. The next year was spent writing songs and developing an original style. The band was not complete without yet another name change. After much debate Mikey came up with the name Steve Koozer after watching a Pauly Shore movie. We enjoy playing live shows around the Seattle area and are planning a tour of the west coast for the summer. Our biggest taste of publicity and performance came on February 16th when we played at the Experience Music Project in their Sound Off! competition; a battle of the bands for up and coming musicians. We were one of the nine semi-finalists.

Group Members Nick Tipp: Bass. The ADD child who proudly left drugs behind five minutes ago. He is a 19 year old senior at SAAS High School in Seattle. Kris Porter: Vocals, Lead Guitar. The leader of the Swedish Mafia. He is an 19 year old student at the UW. Sean Roulette-Miller: Sax, Backup Vocals. A man whose love for beer is only matched by his love for music. He is an 19 year old student at the UW. Mikey Lanz: Drums. Spends his days in a love-filled environment playing video games. He is a 16 year old student at PSCS. Heidi Fivash: Vocals, Rhythm and Keys. The yuppie from the Plateau. She is a 17 year old student at PSCS.
