Artist History
Shannon Moore started playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 10. She grew up in Houston, went to an all girls boarding school in Massachusetts, then came to LA for college.
After graduating, she began playing out locally and started working in the industry doing a number of related jobs including selling audio gear at Westlake Audio, studio managing, and assisting producers and songwriters. It was at her last job, working with songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly (Like a Virgin), that helped land Shannon land a co-publishing deal with Sony Music.
While with Sony, Shannon recorded an albums worth of songs at 4th St. recording with producer Jim Wirt (Incubus). Eric Allaman, client of 4th St., hepled place 10 of her songs on the Canadian prime time TV series MADISON. Since then Shannon and Eric have written many songs together for a variety of movies, one of which was recently nominated for an Emmy (see ericallaman.com).
Shannon moved to Vancouver with the success of the TV show and put together a band, DEEP JULIA. They played shows with Peter Frampton, Jewel, and Radiohead to name a few, and creating a buzz in Canada. It was at this time her band was offered an indie deal with Global Warming Records (Tim Sweeney and Foster/McKilroy - enVogue producers). By the time the record was finished the label had lost their funding and DEEP JULIA band members returned to Vancouver. Shannon stayed in LA to find a home for the record.
Farren Music America picked up the album and two weeks before it was scheduled to be released the unthinkable happened - Shannon was hit head on in a car accident and her liver was lacerated by her seatbelt, as well as a broken collar bone and various other injuries. Month's later Farren's distribution went under.
In a miraculous 6 months after the accident Shannon began to tour. In the past 2 years she has toured the west coast, the midwest, Texas, and the east coast. This spawned a new fan base and a complete change in her life.
Now, with a protools studio of her own, Shannon is recording her new material and continues to tour. Most recently she recorded with producer Martin Feveyear in Seattle (Mark Lanagan, Super Delux, the Presidents) bringin in musicians who have played with the Posies, Fountains of Wayne, and Harvey Danger. She has recently teamed up with Captive Audience Management and plans a radio release of her new single Let It Go. Shannon is featured on many websites and continues to writer for movies and other media. You can find her first record LTD (FMA) on her website at www.shannonmoore.com. |
