Artist description
Who's Jeremi?
My name is Jeroen Leijten. A name destined to be an unpronouncible tongue breaker for the largest part of the world. In fact it is only truly recognized in a small, yet densely occupied country in Western Europe, better known as The Netherlands. To prevent claims of sprained tongues I adopted the name Jeremi. It is a Polish one...
The Dutch are considered to be level-headed. Strangely so, Jeremi is nothing short of a dreamer, born just after the legendary lovely summer of '69. Although too young to fully experience the special atmosphere of this time, the first baby breaths of '69 air left an indelible impression. The search for love, peace and understanding is a recurring theme in the poetry that constitutes the lyrics to Jeremi's music.
Armed with a palette of notes Jeremi reflects life's highs and lows in abstract musical paintings. The result is not the average popsong. Guitar dominated dance funk, beat infested ballads, melodies molded in adventurous arrangements sprung out of a blend of personal emotions, out of joy and pain, out of amazement and horror. Although mysteriously hidden at times, the message is there for anyone who cares to listen.
In the epic song 'Massive' Jeremi sings of the gift of life, massive beyond comprehension. Like the gift that enables a boy born with an unpronouncable name to dig deep into the heart and soul of a dreamer called Jeremi and witness there, time upon time, the birth of a new musical treasure. A treasure, since just like a child every song is born beautiful. Nurturing it and watching it blossom, is a true pleasure.
It is what I do. I am here, while Jeremi raises to full maturity the smallest ideas that seem to pop up out of nowhere, while I let my fingers wander over the fretboard of a red guitar. A large family of fully grown children is assembled in Jeremi's elaborate catalog. These songs hardly go steady with the children raised by Prince, David Bowie, Terence Trent d'Arby, Tori Amos, or U2, artists I greatly admire. They merely would love to have the opportunity to come outside, play... and make new friends...

Artist History
Where's Jeremi going?
In the spring of 2001 Jeremi signed an exclusive licencing agreement with the US independent label Spaceark Records. Unfortunately, at the verge of the worldwide launch of the album Sphere, Spaceark Records has virtually collapsed due to serious mismanagement. Together with several fellow artists Jeremi has dissociated himself from the activities of Spaceark Records.
Jeremi is currently in the process of launching an independent record label that will provide a stage for the unknown, yet high potential talent screaming out to be heard among the plethora of throwaway acts currently infesting the hit parades.
