RHYTHM Magazine (UK) 2002
Wow, here's another great one for ya. Not much in the way of information about these fellas, except that they are a five-piece band based in Scotland. And that's pretty much it - there's not even a photo to go on folks.
But as I always say (cliché alert!), 'when something is good, you don't need to dress it in bows' - ooh, I'm full of 'em today. Just going by the music, Sleeping Giants are simply a very good band who write very good songs. They've got this beautiful tinge of psychedelia, but nothing over the top, and they kind of remind me of The Doves or Elbow or the Super Furries at a push - or even the early tunes of Robin Hitchcock.
I can sense a real brooding confidence within the band, and the production is nigh on perfect. Hopefully, their last song here, 'Naked', will take on the same live audience participation as 'Sit Down' by James does. I can see them being just as big. Remember where you saw them first_
