Artist History
An experienced live performer with a talent for
writing songs that you can't help but get stuck
in your head, Lyle King can bring you on an
emotional ride through reflection, heartbreak,
and humor only to leave you with a thirst for
more. Even when the music stops you'll still find
yourself interested and relaxed with Lyle's
dry-humor stage presence. With his catchy
melodies and emotional performances Lyle truly
strikes a chord with audiences of all ages.
Lyle began his "professional" music career in high
school with the band Fantasy. During college he
moved on to the rock band Quadraphonic taking
lead vocals and rhythm guitar once again. He was
also in a band called My 2 Dollars with Chris
Ticthner (Sunday Rain Dog, Three Mile Limit) and
Arthur Adams (The Lazy Songwriter, Kallit Molly).
Within the last two years Lyle has started to
focus on his own original blend of acoustic rock /
folk pop. He's played at many venues around the
Burlington Vermont area including Ben & Jerry's,
The Village Cup, Channel 3's Morning Music Showcase,
and he took thrid place in a state wide
open mic competition in Waterbury at the Thirsty
Turtle (sponsored by 104.7 - The Point). He
released a live cassette album in the spring of
2001 and he's currently recording his first CD.
Plans for the future include performances at
Borders on Church Street and more appearances
throughout the Burlington area. |
