Artist History
Jen Foster stands out in a crowd, and the crowd is there to see her perform. The crowds are getting larger all the time. Foster currently resides in the mostly country but plenty-rocking town of Nashville, Tennessee. Lately, she's been very busy. Having won the respect of legendary songwriter Randy Bachman, Foster regularly flies to his digs in Canada to write and record with him. She says that Bachman is a great mentor: "Randy has accomplished so much in his life, and he is still so ambitious, so driven to write hit songs. He has taught me discipline. You get up every day, whether you're inspired or not, and you write, you play, you just do it."
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Foster spent her adolescence in an upper-middle class Houston suburb. She attended a Catholic all-girl's high school where she admits she was "a wild child". She began playing and writing songs as an outlet for her creative energy, and soon she was entertaining large crowds at local events. Upon graduation, Jen moved to Los Angeles, California, to attend Whittier College, where she was affectionately known as "Rock Star". She won Best Performer four years in a row at the school's annual talent competition, and she became a fixture at coffeehouses and clubs all over the L.A. area.
Jen decided to exit L.A's fast lane after college to develop herself personally, spiritually, and artistically. She instinctively knew that Nashville would provide the platform from which her music would take flight. And she was right. Jen Foster mesmerizes her audiences with a charismatic personality and a wide range of song themes that always leave the crowd wanting more.
