Artist History
After a jam session in 1996 Lyle King, Joe Tymecki,
and Dan Welch became the band Fantasy. Joe and Lyle
became the core of the group as they wrote more and more
songs together. About six months after the band
formed Aaron Ritchie was convinced to sign on as
the band's bass player. Fantasy became a CVU Coffee
House legend along with the company of other bands
like The Skamaphrodites and Kallit Molly. They
recorded many songs throughout the two years they
were together but only one album was released
shortly before they broke up in 1998 ("252"). Since
then Limelite Records VT has been remixing and
releasing many of the old recordings. Although
the band ran into a lot of personal differences
in the middle of its career the four friends
came together again in the last six months before
they split up to write, record, and perform with
the same spirit and energ they had in the beginning.
When they did split up it was because three of the
four members graduated from high school and not
because of the personal issues they were battling
with 6 months earlier. All along Fantasy was a band
of good friends who loved to make music and have
fun. Since Fantasy Lyle, Joe and Aaron went on to
be in Quadraphonic. Shortly after Lyle and Aaron
were in another band together called My 2 Dollars.
These days Lyle is a solo acoustic singer songwriter,
Joe plays lead guitar in a rock band called Goat Haven,
and Aaron has been in a couple of different bands
on bass like The Young Republicans and Fortune's Foe.
Dan went on to join the Marines and stops back home
every once in a while. The question is will there ever
be a reunion album or concert? Joe and Lyle certainly
wouldn't object. |
