    Artist History
Patrick is a native of Eagle River, Alaska, and spent his entire youth there. He began composing at the age of 10 on his mother's old folk guitar and started performing soon after. As a member of numerous vocal ensembles, he quickly became a featured soloist in concerts, special events and national competitions. Motivated by a love for language and storytelling, he relocated to Seattle in order to pursue a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Washington. While at the UW, Patrick was torn between his desire to write and his desire to immerse himself in music. They were both equally undeniable. In finishing his degree in Poetry Writing, he found the perfect compromise. With impressive guitarwork and quicksilver vocal stylings, his music rapidly evolved into an mesmerizing listener experience. The lyrics are always central to his songs. Each piece carries a special meaning dredged from the depths of the writer's soul. He explores the topics of love, depression and loneliness. Soaring above all is a yearning for freedom, purity and ultimate redemption. Stylistically, Patrick's music incorporates many different flavors. Alternating between fingerpicking and strumming, he is a dynamic and rhythmic guitarist, interweaving elements of folk, jazz, and alternative rock. Dubbed the "melody-master" by former band-mates, his vocal lines are compelling, honest, moving and catchy. He has been compared to David Gray, Bruce Cockburn, Jimmy Page, Michael Tomlinson, George Michael and Rufus Wainwright. Patrick puts on an intense live show and performs regularly in Seattle. He recently played at Pioneer Days Music Festival and is frequently showcased on Singer/Songwriter night at the Hop Vine Pub. He also plays at the Old Town Alehouse, Dubliner and O'Shea's Easy Street Tavern.
