Artist History
No Big Loss was formed in 1996. Before this, Jim
Dietzen and Pat O'Connell had been playing
together for several years with another drummer,
John Casey. Eventually, Casey was let go, and
Tommy Constantino joined the band. His powerful
presence behind the kit completed the band.
The original band name upon the arrival of
Constantino was "Methane." They
went on to compete, and win several band
competitions, and soon released a CD entitled
"The Fall," while still named Methane.
Before long, the overall depression
that had engulfed rock music encouraged the
trio to take on a new name, and experiment with
their sound. Hence, No Big Loss was born.
Although the members were the same, the band
was much different, and before long, amazingly
original music began pouring out of the trio.
Dietzen and Constantino then moved to go
to school at Illinois State University, while
O'Connell stayed in Chicago. The band currently
plays in several bars in the Bloomington/Normal
area, and are beginning to break out into the
Chicago scene. The trio recently released their
first album under their new name, entitled
"Smiling 4 Times." Look out for this trio.
