Artist description We're from a small Island in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico. We may not be professionals, but we enjoy playing our music to the max. Our band members influences varies greatly. Victor (drums) listen a lot to bands like Cryptosy, Cannibal Corpse, Cradle Of Filth among others. Omar (vocals) listen to Dissection, The Crown, God Dethroned etc. Carlos (bass) listen to Cradle Of Filth, Abyssos etc. Ramón (Guitars) likes Death a lot (Chuck is GOD) and JC (guitars - that's me) likes Anathema a lot, Dan Swäno, Edge Of Sanity and others. We try to make different things with each song, maybe we succeeded, maybe not, but we really enjoy playing, and we hope you too enjoy our music.

Artist History From Puerto Rico, "Darkened Skies" was formed back in 1996 from the ashes of "Gestos De Nada", a punk band. With influences of bands such as "The Crown" (a.k.a. Crown Of Thorns), "Dark Tranquillity", "Dissection" and "At The Gates", among others, "Darkened Skies" fits in the Melodic Death Metal genre, but with some other elements. Even though the Metal bands support is almost non existent in the island, "Darkened Skies" is still fighting to survive in a slow-rising scene that refuses to die. In the beginning, "Darkened Skies" original band members were Victor (drums), Rolando (bass), Robert (Lead/Rythm guitar), José C. (Lead/Rythm Guitar) and Omar (vocals), all of them longtime childhood and school friends. With time and because of diverse factors the band disintegrated for a while, only to arise again when we were given the chance to play in a local "Rock Fest" for bands of all genres. Even though our genre did not fit at all with that of the other bands in the "fest", people really liked our music, and so we decided to gather again. And so, Darkened Skies was born again, but with a change in the lineup, because Robert had to leave the band for University. Then after a while Rolando left the band too for personal reasons, so we had to ask for help to two members of local Black Metal act "Uncreated", Ramón and Carlitos (guitar and bass respectively). And to this date we are still together and fighting to keep our metal scene alive in Puerto Rico.
