Artist description
Tom is the tall, lanky one with long hair. Next in height is probably Brett and David, but Mason (a little shorter) has hair akin to Tom's. David's hair is a little scraggly. Devin rounds it out by being the shortest, and both he and Brett have fairly short hair. All in all everyone is fairly lean, muscular, and tough. |

Artist History
Formed by Mason and Devin Brown (no relation), both on guitar, along with Tom Naumann of Jet By Day fame (Mason later joined this rock attack too) , around the summer of 2000. In the fall, at the University of Georgia, David Specht joined on keyboards, followed by Brett Griffin on bass. With this completed lineup, the band started to work on several ideas, including work on a rock "opus." With the completion of the first set, C'est Mortel played its first show at a small warehouse to much acclaim. After a live recording of the first set, the band started playing its second and third "sets" around Athens, as well as Atlanta, opening up for such bands as Burning Airlines and ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead. In late December of 2001, C'est Mortel took two days to record its current release on Two Sheds Music, which includes the second and third "sets." They were recorded live in one take each, at Glow In The Dark Studios in Atlanta, GA by Matt Goldman. |
