Artist description
This is a collection of unreleased, and largely unfinished songs. Songs were written by and with various cited collaborators of Shawn Stokes. Songs range in quality from aging four-track cassette recordings of live performances and mono-camcorder recordin gs to 16 track digital hardisk studio demos. The host collaborator, Shawn Stokes originally digitized all analog recordings in 16bit. Several recordings were originally recorded in low-quality stereo or mono, and were re-mastered in digidesign protools for a better stereo image. N |

Artist History
Shawn began playing the snare drum at age 12, and joined his first band at age 13. At age 14, he performed on drums with his high school metal band, "Eternal Rage" at Haines City High in the fall of 1988. His best friend Rus sell Finchum was the bassist, displaced yankee Clint Fulks was the guitarist and a guy we'll just call "George" on vox. He joined the (non-performing) speed metal trio "Nevermore" in the fall of 1989 and left in early '91. At the same time he started "Your Mom's Dog" with Shawn Boos on lead guitar and Beth Moore on bass. Various untalented rhythm guitarist were used as filler. This core line-up performed for hundreds of fellow Auburndale High students every few months from 1990 to 1992. This line-up became Ten29 with the addition of Tony Insua on Bass when Beth moved on to pursue dance and psychology. Shawn Stokes, Shawn Boos and Tony Insua existed as a casual trio until 1993. The next several years were spent writing and recording solo music with the oc cassional collaborator. In 1 994 Shawn briefly moved to St. Augustine, Florida and in '95 moved to UNF in Jacksonville, Florida. In late '97, after graduation he moved to Miami, Florida. In mid '98 he moved briefly to Orlando, Florida. From 1999 to fall 2001 he lived in Phoenix, Ari zona where he collaborated with DJ Prophet, the Pop group "til Seven" led by Greg Ansel, various electronic producers and solo songwriters. Shawn played various low and high profile venues in Phoenix from Feb. to Oct. 2 000.
In 2001 he worked with Bob Dot en and Tim Bennet on various projects. Shawn moved to Birmingham, Alabama in the fall of 2001 to begin the recording of his commercial project under the working title: Kido.· |
