Artist History
Sly Willie Down formed in 1998 from the ashes of a local garage rock band in the North Georgia area. Andy Jones's innovative style of drum playing courted with David Bice's (guitar) punk influence, Chris Collis's (bass) unique groove and Stacy Gregory's soulful vocals provide the musical background of the group. In September 2000, Sly Willie Down released their first full-length CD. Their CD has received airplay in Chattanooga, TN on Rock 105 (WRXR-FM), The Wall (WAWL-FM), New Talk WGOW-FM and WB's FUEL TV. The CD was, also, featured on 96 Rock (WKLS-FM) in Atlanta, GA and on The Torch (WUTK-FM) in Knoxville, TN. Live shows in Atlanta, GA include the Somber Reptile, Dark Horse Tavern, Nine Lives Saloon and Smith's Olde Bar. Lives shows in Chattanooga, TN include The Bay, David's and The Attic. Other notable shows were at Prince Deli in Knoxville, TN and the North Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton, GA. Pleased with their first full-length CD's level of success, Sly Willie Down has plans to release a second CD at the beginning of 2002. Sly Willie Down's current CD can be purchased at garageband.com, http://www.amazon.com, Alpha Music and Curbow Music in Blue Ridge, GA, Alpha Music and Big Frog Music in Andrews, NC, Circles Music and Tune Town in Ellijay, GA, Compact Discovery in Chattanooga, TN or you can e-mail the band.
